Jail Release

There's really nothing quite like going to jail unexpectedly. When someone gets arrested, the experience can be humiliating or even traumatizing. Being in a situation where you are physically restrained, and actually stripped of all free will, is difficult for almost anyone to endure.

When a friend or family member is arrested, he or she is taken to the county jail. If the arrest was made in or near Austin, you can check to see if they have been booked into jail here:

You will need to get the person's booking number, the charge, and the amount of the bond set. If the arrest was outside of Travis County, contact the sheriff's office in the county of arrest to get this information. Then call our office to see if we can assist you in getting the person released.

In any county, you can hire a bail bondsman to get someone released, at a cost of around 10% of the bond amount. However, the fee is only for the release, and you will still have to hire an attorney for the case. In Travis and some other counties, a hired attorney can arrange for jail release with a personal bond.

In many other counties, bail bondsmen are the only ones authorized to arrange for jail release. Williamson County is one of these counties. If your friend or loved one was arrested in Williamson, Hays, Bastrop, Caldwell, Blanco, Burnet, or some other county, we may still be able to assist you in finding bondsmen to get your person out.
